What is Lonart DS ?

Lonart DS is an antimalarial combination containing artemether and lumefantrine. It is used to treat:
• Uncomplicated malaria
• Malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum

How do I take Lonart DS?

Swallow the tablets with water. Take doses at the recommended times and always with food or milk to enhance absorption. Complete the full course even if symptoms improve.

What dosage do I take?

Dosage depends on body weight and medical advice. General guidelines include:
• Adults and children ≥35 kg: 1 tablet twice daily for 3 days (total of 6 doses)
• Take the second dose 8 hours after the first dose, then every 12 hours thereafter
• Do not skip doses or stop treatment early
• Not for malaria prevention

What are the potential side effect?

Lonart DS is generally well tolerated.
Possible side effects include:
• Nausea or vomiting
• Dizziness
• Headache
• Loss of appetite
