What is Rhinathiol Children Cough Syrup?

Rhinathiol is a mucolytic syrup containing carbocisteine, used to:

  • Loosen thick mucus in the airways
  • Help relieve wet or productive cough
  • Improve breathing comfort in respiratory tract infections like bronchitis or chest colds

It works by thinning phlegm, making it easier to cough out.

How do I take Rhinathiol?

Shake the bottle well before use.

  • Use a measuring spoon or syringe for accurate dosing
  • Give after meals, and ensure the child stays well hydrated
  • Do not mix with milk or other cough medicines unless advised
What dosage do I take?

Dosage depends on the child’s age and formulation strength:

  • 2–5 years: 100 mg/5 ml syrup – 2.5 ml 2–3 times daily
  • 5–12 years: 100 mg/5 ml syrup – 5 ml 2–3 times daily
