Description
Erythromycin 0.5% Eye Ointment is an antibiotic eye preparation used for the treatment of:
• Bacterial conjunctivitis
• Eyelid infections (blepharitis)
• Other susceptible bacterial eye infections
Wash hands before use. Pull down the lower eyelid and apply a small ribbon of ointment inside the eyelid. Close the eye gently for 1–2 minutes. Avoid touching the tube tip to the eye. Use exactly as prescribed.
Use only as directed by a healthcare professional. Typical guide:
• Apply to affected eye(s) up to 3–4 times daily
• Continue for the full prescribed duration even if symptoms improve
• Not for routine long-term use without medical advice
Usually well tolerated. Possible side effects include:
