Description
Accu-Chek Active Test Strips are specialized medical testing strips designed for quantitative blood glucose monitoring with Accu-Chek Active meters. Requiring a tiny blood sample size of just 1–2 µL, they provide flexible in-meter and out-of-meter dosing to make routine testing quick and straightforward. They are primarily used to:
Monitor Blood Glucose Levels: Provide reliable, real-time blood sugar readings in approximately 5 seconds.
Support Flexible Dosing: Feature built-in underdose detection, allowing you to add more blood within a brief window if the initial drop is insufficient.
Enable In-Meter or Out-of-Meter Testing: Allow blood application while the strip is inserted in the meter or after removing it for easier access.
Preparation: Wash hands thoroughly with warm, soapy water and dry completely. Remove one test strip from the container and immediately close the vial lid tightly to protect the remaining strips from moisture.
Insertion: Push the test strip into the meter’s strip guide in the direction of the arrows (two small arrows first). The meter will turn on automatically and display a flashing blood drop symbol. Verify that the code on the screen matches your test strip vial (if using a meter model that requires coding).
Blood Application: Use a lancing device to prick the side of a clean fingertip. Gently massage towards the tip to form a small blood drop. Touch the blood drop directly to the center of the green test area—either while inserted in the meter or outside the meter as preferred.
Reading & Disposal: An hourglass symbol will appear, displaying your glucose result in about 5 seconds. Remove and safely discard the used test strip and lancet in a puncture-resistant container.
Testing Frequency: Perform blood glucose tests as often as recommended by your physician or diabetes care specialist (e.g., fasting, pre-meal, or post-meal).
Single-Use Only: Each test strip is designed for one-time use; never attempt to re-apply blood to a used strip.
Storage Protection: Always keep the strip container tightly closed and store in a dry, cool place to prevent humidity damage.
Expiration Check: Never use expired test strips, as they can produce inaccurate results.
Meter Compatibility: Ensure your test strips match your specific Accu-Chek Active meter generation (note that newer “no-coding” meters cannot use older orange-labeled test strips).
