What is Aeroline Inhaler?

Aeroline is a bronchodilator known as a short-acting beta-agonist (SABA). It is used to provide rapid relief from respiratory distress. It is used to treat:

  • Asthma attacks: Quickly opening the airways during sudden shortness of breath.

  • Bronchospasm: Tightness in the chest caused by asthma or COPD.

  • Exercise-Induced Bronchoconstriction: Taken before physical activity to prevent wheezing. It works by stimulating receptors in the muscles of the airways, causing them to relax and widen within minutes, making it significantly easier to breathe.

How do I use the Aeroline Inhaler?

To ensure the medicine reaches your lungs effectively:

  1. Prepare: Remove the cap and shake the inhaler well.

  2. Exhale: Breathe out fully, away from the mouthpiece.

  3. Inhale: Place the mouthpiece in your mouth, seal with your lips, and start to breathe in deeply and steadily. Press the canister once at the start of the breath.

  4. Hold: Remove the inhaler and hold your breath for about 10 seconds (or as long as comfortable) to allow the medicine to settle in the lungs.

  5. Wait: If you need a second puff, wait about 1 minute before repeating.

What dosage do I take?

The right dosage of Ventolin Inhaler depends on your condition and your doctor’s recommendation. General guidelines are:

  • Adults and children over 4 years: 1–2 puffs every 4–6 hours as needed
  • Do not exceed 8 puffs in 24 hours unless advised by a doctor
  • For exercise-induced symptoms: 2 puffs 15–30 minutes before activity
What are the potential side effect?

Because Aeroline stimulates certain receptors, it can occasionally cause:

  • Tachycardia: A racing heart or palpitations.

  • Tremors: Slight shaking, usually in the hands.

  • Headache or a feeling of restlessness/nervousness.
