What is Calpol 2 Suspension?

Calpol 2 Suspension contains paracetamol (120 mg/5 ml), a pain reliever and fever reducer. It is used in children to treat:

  • Fever
  • Teething pain
  • Headache and earache
  • Cold and flu symptoms
  • Minor aches and pains

It works by reducing fever and blocking the production of prostaglandins that cause pain and inflammation.

How do I take Calpol 2 Suspension?

Shake the bottle well before use. Use the provided measuring spoon or oral syringe to give the correct dose. Can be given with or without food. Do not exceed the recommended number of doses in 24 hours. Follow your doctor’s advice or the product label carefully.

What dosage do I take?

The correct dosage of Calpol 2 Suspension depends on the child’s age and weight. General guidelines are:

  • 3–6 months: 2.5 ml up to 4 times daily
  • 6–24 months: 5 ml up to 4 times daily
  • 2–4 years: 7.5 ml (5 ml + 2.5 ml) up to 4 times daily
  • 4–6 years: 10 ml (5 ml + 5 ml) up to 4 times daily
  • Leave at least 4 hours between doses
  • Do not exceed 4 doses in 24 hours
