What is Visine Eye Drops?
Visine eye drop contains tetrahydrozoline hydrochloride. A decongestant and an anti-histamine ingredients. It is used to relieve:
- Eye redness due to minor irritation
- Allergic conjunctivitis
- Itching and watery eyes
- Eye discomfort caused by dust, pollen, or smoke
It works by reducing swelling and constricting blood vessels in the eyes, thereby relieving redness and itchiness.
How do I take Visine Eye Drops?
Wash your hands before use. Tilt your head back and gently pull down the lower eyelid. Instill the prescribed number of drops into the eye(s). Avoid touching the dropper tip to your eye or any surface. Close the eye gently for a few moments. Use exactly as directed and avoid overuse.
What dosage do I take?
The correct dosage of Visine Eye Drops depend on your symptoms and your doctor’s advice. General guidelines are:
- Adults and children over 6 years: 1–2 drops in the affected eye(s) up to 4 times daily
- Do not use for more than 3 consecutive days unless prescribed
- Not recommended for children under 6 years unless advised by a doctor
