What is Itacare Tablet?
Itacare Tablet contains itraconazole, a broad-spectrum antifungal medication. It is used to treat:
- Fungal infections of the skin, nails, and mucous membranes
- Vaginal and oral candidiasis (yeast infections)
- Fungal infections of the lungs (e.g. aspergillosis)
- Systemic fungal infections in immunocompromised patients
It works by stopping the growth of fungi, interfering with their cell membrane formation.
How do I take Itacare Tablet?
Take Itacare Tablet immediately after a full meal to enhance absorption. Swallow the tablet whole with a full glass of water do not crush or chew. Take at the same time each day and complete the full course, even if symptoms improve. Always follow your doctor’s instructions.
What dosage do I take?
The correct dosage of Itacare Tablet depends on the type and severity of the infection. General guidelines are:
- Adults: 100 mg to 200 mg once or twice daily after food
- Duration of use may range from a few days to several weeks, based on condition
- Not recommended during pregnancy unless clearly needed and prescribed
