What is Postinor-2?
Postinor-2 is an emergency contraceptive containing levonorgestrel, a synthetic hormone. It is used to:

- Offer emergency contraception after unprotected intercourse
It works mainly by delaying ovulation, preventing fertilization, or stopping a fertilized egg from implanting in the uterus.
How do I take Postinor-2?
Take the first tablet as soon as possible after unprotected sex (preferably within 12 hours, and no later than 72 hours). Take the second tablet 12 hours after the first dose. Swallow each tablet with water. Do not take both tablets at once. Always follow your doctor’s instructions or the label.
What dosage do I take?
The correct dosage of Postinor-2 is:
- 1 tablet immediately (within 72 hours), followed by 1 tablet 12 hours later
- The sooner it is taken, the more effective it is
- Not intended for regular contraception only for emergency use
